The future of quidditch is at risk. 

You may think that the Stop Online Piracy Act will only affect music downloads. But it could also make it much easier for corporate entities to shut down fan communities and related websites all over the internet. 

The IQA, the HP Alliance, Mugglenet, Leaky Cauldron, and hundreds of other websites could all become suddenly targeted by this legislation. 

From the wikipedia entry on SOPA:

“The originally proposed bill would allow the U.S. Department of Justice, as well as copyright holders, to seekcourt orders against websites accused of enabling or facilitating copyright infringement. Depending on who makes the request, the court order could include barring online advertising networks and payment facilitators from doing business with the allegedly infringing website, barring search engines from linking to such sites, and requiring Internet service providers to block access to such sites.”

It would not be hard for they-who-shall-not-be-named to argue that all harry potter fan sites (including extensions of the fan community like the IQA) fall under this description.
