I am now an action figure. 

Some weeks ago my girlfriend Anna asked me what my definition of success is and I half-jokingly told her that it would be when someone makes an action figure of me. 

In a move that puts any romance movie to shame, she created a christmas gift that perfectly challenges the meaning of my words: a homemade action figure. In one masterful stroke she demonstrated that the realization of my dreams didn’t have to be made in china when I have such an amazing person right in front of me. 

This thing is frickn amazing. It has every detail, down to the tophat, snitch cane, red sunglasses, bowtie and griffyndor scarf. How she got all this together I still don’t know. The packaging is completely professional, glossy and practically seamless. The World Cup logo fits perfectly into a plastic mold on the top left of the bubble container. 

The back of the package is jaw-dropping - it features a hilarious character description (apparently I am now “the benz” - check out the photo for the full and sweetly hilarious text) and also a “collect them all” slate at the bottom that includes my friends and colleagues Alicia Radford, Max Kaplan, Xander Manshel (muggle quidditch creator), and Rainey Johnson the original snitch. 

I was in shock when I opened this and I’m still stunned by the level of devotion and mastery you can see in this… just writing this makes a gleeful cheshire cat grin spread across my face. After Anna gave me a hand-painted quidditch box for my birthday, I thought she was setting the bar kind of high - turns out she was just getting started. 

Anna Brisbin, you are a true artist, a supremely talented, generous, ingenious and beautiful person, and I’m both proud and lucky to call you my girlfriend.
